PacRim Engineering, Inc. was co-founded by Mr. Peter Liu, PE, SE and Mr. Roy Kim, MBA, on November 09, 2007. Both of them were drawn to the idea of challenging themselves by applying their years of industry experience and entrepreneurship. They set out to start an organization where people were not only valued but empowered to develop quality technical skills to solve the infrastructure and environmental challenges of society.

The name “PacRim,” short for “Pacific Rim,” carries a profound connotation of our company. Both founders have deep roots in Asia and the U.S. It was fitting for them to visualize their business ambition in bridging across the Pacific Rim and around the globe. “PacRim” felt right.

The 2008 financial crisis, considered by many economists to have been the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930s, seriously tested their resolve and business acumen during the company’s infancy. By 2011, they knew they had survived the start-up with gross sales receipts that topped $3 million.

PacRim has grown to a multi-service engineering and program management firm in the field of civil, structural, and environmental engineering and construction. Together with our subsidiaries and affiliates, we operate our business through the core offerings of PacRim’s expertise and in-business partnerships with a variety of industry allies. We aim to leverage our broad engineering and construction resources with our technical expertise to provide unparalleled property development, urbanization, environmental protection, and unique infrastructure engineering consulting and construction services. While we provide the majority of our services throughout California and the western region of the United States, our business extends beyond borders to overseas markets to serve clients in the Chinese, South Pacific, and African markets.

Over the past decade, we have successfully delivered numerous projects that shaped our community’s landscape and validated our founding vision. The future is bright as we aim to expand and grow by taking on new ventures that will ensure our hand in building a better tomorrow.
