November 12, 2018 – LOS ANGELES, CA. PacRim takes pride in investing in the community, and this last week, two of its staff members did so by visiting college campuses to share their wisdom and professional experience with students.

Rick Rubin Visits SDSU’s Troops to Engineers Program

On Wednesday, November 7, 2018, Rick Rubin, Principal of the San Diego branch, visited the San Diego State University’s Troop to Engineers Program. The goal of the program is to place student veteran engineers into paid internships while in school and full-time jobs before graduation.

Mr. Rubin provided insight into the engineering industry and reviewed students’ resumes to strengthen them. Mr. Rubin expressed, “It’s always a pleasure to pass along to others the advice and insight someone gave to me in my career.”

Gilbert Guevara Presents at Cal Poly Pomona EERI’s General Meeting 
On Thursday, November 8, 2018, Gilbert Guevara, Senior Structural Engineer from the Los Angeles branch, gave a presentation to the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI) of Cal Poly Pomona during one of their general meetings.
Mr. Guevara spoke about his achievements in California Earthquake design, the software used, design elements that should be taken into consideration, and the internship PacRim has available. About 25 engineering and architectural students attended the session.
