This project added a new capacity to create a two-lane ETL system between SR-167 in Renton and Northeast Sixth St. in Bellevue. It will add one new lane in each direction and combine the existing HOV lane with the new lane to create a dual ETL system. This project includes specialty retaining and noise barrier walls, fish passages, and bridge structures. PacRim’s structural design team provided the design for approximately 20 earth retaining systems and about a mile-long Noise Barrier Wall in this project. Most earth retaining systems utilized by WSDOT included proprietary Structural Earth Walls, Geosynthetic Walls (both temporary and permanent), Soldier Pile and soldier Pile Tieback Walls, and Soil Nail Walls.
