Kiewit was the design-builder for the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Widening Project for Metro, a $350 million design-build contract. HNTB served as the designer for Kiewit. Contracted with Kiewit directly as a construction engineering consultant, PacRim provided structural engineering design for the preparation of construction shoring design for several bridge widenings designed by HNTB. The design followed the Caltrans shoring manual and agency review process. In addition, PacRim also provided peer review for two dozen shoring designs done by other Kiewit consultants. The engineering efforts also required immediate attention and short turnaround times.
