PacRim provided civil engineering services for NAVFAC SW in support of their in-house preparation of a Design-Build RFP package. Our work included a topographic survey, geotechnical investigation, utility studies, and a Site Engineering Investigation (SEI) report. PacRim also provided stormwater design verbiage for contractors to understand the stormwater regulations associated with the base.
For the SEI, PacRim:
- Provided an analysis of the activity’s utilities to determine points of connection and whether existing capacities were adequate to support the new facility.
- Investigated the proposed project site’s field conditions and evaluated whether the information obtained would be sufficient to allow a contractor to provide a bid proposal and allow a designer to proceed with the design of the proposed facility.
- Used GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) to scan the underground utilities and surveyed their marked-up locations.
- Developed conceptual utility diagrams illustrating the approximate location of all existing utilities and proposed points of connection for all facilities.
PacRim also provided a utility survey at each building/trailer to be demolished that was not located within the New Site Area.
