As an ongoing effort to improve its water supply facilities, increase the security of the water wells, and provide safe water services to its customers, the Park Water Company proposed several elements of improvements throughout its service area. One such improvement was the drilling of a new domestic water well at its Well 19 site. The new well would include a pump with a high-efficiency, electric motor; a new pump house with separate rooms for chlorine and ammonia injection; piping to connect the well to the existing reservoir on the site; electrical connections for the new motor; and the necessary equipment to provide safe drinking water to the local community.
PacRim Engineering provided a comprehensive set of complete plans for the construction of new well facilities including utilizing subconsultants for the electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and landscaping designs. PacRim provided civil and structural engineering designs for the site, the new building, and the piping requirements including such items as the pump pedestal design, the overflow seepage pits, the sand separator, pipe supports, and all necessary valves and connections. PacRim’s design of the building included the architectural and structural designs of the CMU walls, roof structure (including access hatch, skylight, and parapet/soffit designs), foundation designs, all man-door and ventilation openings, and miscellaneous details.
PacRim’s services also included coordinating with the subconsultants as well as coordinating with, and obtaining approval from, the LA County Building Department, LA County Environmental Programs Division, and the LA County Fire Department.
