The Port of Long Beach’s Pier J Bike/Pedestrian Path project involved installing the Port’s first bike and pedestrian trail path, which extended the Class I bike path terminus at Queensway Drive to the shoreline recreational fishing area along the riprap lining the east shoreline of Pier J.  Along the path of innovative bicycle facilities, landscapes, wayfinding signs, and public art/display boards, bicyclists and pedestrians were now able to access the RMS Queen Mary, Russian Submarine Scorpion, Island Express Helicopters, the Carnival Cruise Lines terminal and nearby hotels.

PacRim Engineering provided input for the path alignment and barrier retaining walls for the proposed combination of Class I, II and III bike paths, the structural design of the two cantilevered pier outlook/recreational fishing structures and the associated architectural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing designs for the restroom facility.
