PacRim Engineering was responsible for assisting HNTB Corporation in the realignment and replacement of the Riverside Drive Bridge over the Los Angeles River. HNTB completed the environmental documents and the civil and structural design. The new bridge featured a two-span prestressed, concrete box girder structure to replace the previous single span steel truss bridge. PacRim’s scope of services included hydraulic studies, utility coordination, street lighting design and the process of regulatory permits from Army Corps of Engineers, State Regional Water Quality Control Board, and State Department of Fish and Game. The project complied with Caltrans Local Assistance Procedures.
