Under the LAX Master Plan, the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) launched a series of capital improvement projects. PacRim Engineering was involved in the engineering consulting efforts in connection with the Midfield Satellite Concourse, Tom Bradley International Terminal Project.
PacRim’s scope of work included the design of the World Way West/Airside Service Road Grade Separation, which was a component of the Taxiway C13 improvements and the Taxiway D Extension. The project consisted of constructing the Airside Service Road along the Taxiway C13 and lowering the existing World Way West roadway. The previous World Way West was a 4-lane facility with two lanes in each direction; and the proposed Airside Service Road would be a 2-lane facility with one lane in each direction consisting of standard 12-foot lanes and 8-foot shoulders. PacRim provided construction support services during construction as well. The project was completed and opened in June 2010.
