PacRim teamed with Parsons in response to LAUSD’s proposal to provide solar site survey services. The objective was to assess and evaluate over 20 potential school sites/locations for a Solar Photovoltaic System along with its suitability, safety, and desirable levels of energy output. These services aimed to support the District’s energy conservation program pursuant to the California Government Code.
The recommendation options for PV arrays used minimally penetrating mounting systems with panels of output no less than 200 watts each. The structural integrity of the roof and sub-structure was assessed. PacRim assessed suitability, accessibility, and safety of the site for a power inverter, utility access, and balance of systems as to location, emissions, noise factor, etc. Additionally, we evaluated interconnection issues, proximity to electric meter to maximize output, etc. We provided an assessment report of anticipated issues on the site that needed to be addressed during solar PV installation, and recommendations for solar PV array options with comparative estimated solar energy output.
