An Environmental Impact Report (EIR) was prepared for the proposed improvement of the USC Medical Center in Los Angeles. PacRim Engineering was involved in preparing the feasibility study report for the improvement, which included widening the lanes on the Soto Street over the I-10 from Charlotte Street to Pomeroy Street. The Soto Street and Marengo Street intersection was a structure over the freeway in its entirety. Therefore, any proposal to widen the street may have a substantial impact to the mainline freeway operation and impact on the structural integrity. Any proposed widening of the structure would also have had to consider the structural feasibility, constructability, Caltrans approval and cost implications. The study was furnished to USC as part of the EIR documents.
