A word from Peter Liu, Principal at PacRim Engineering, Inc.
I received my second Moderna vaccine dose last month and am now fully vaccinated.
I can’t help myself but marvel at the long journey we trod to reach the beginning of the end of the COVID pandemic. So much suffering, yet so much resilience!
While sitting on the observation chair for 15 minutes after being inoculated with the second dose, a great sense of relief and excitement came to me as I pondered the previous thirteen months. Our society turned upside down and forever changed. In this historic time of great difficulty, we are blessed to be among the fortunate ones who have escaped the horrible harms brought on so many of our fellow human beings around the world.
Did you feel the same anxiety I felt on New Year’s Day that we could not wait to turn the page from 2020 and put the bad memories behind? What a profound experience in an unprecedented time!
Indeed, it is now the beginning of the end for this unusual period of our lives. Thank God! We have finally arrived at this point.
There are many people we can thank for sure: medical folks, essential workers, volunteers, and on and on. But I am also grateful for my family, my friends, and my colleagues for sticking together to make the best of the worst time.
To that extent, I thank everyone in our PacRim family and remain optimistic for our future!
